1. Bunc At Radius Little India

Walking distance from both Little India and Bugis MRT Stations, Bunc at Radius stands proud as one of Singapore’s most popular backpacker hostels. Whilst the rooms and beds are clean, spacious and comfortable, the real selling point here is the community feel that Bunc delivers. They have a downstairs lounging area for breakfast in the morning, as well as a kitchen and movie deck which can be reserved. Another great way of meeting other travellers is by going on one of their scheduled nights out, which hit up Singapore’s best clubs with special discounts on drinks. They also run free day tours and offer great advice on all the best places to go in Singapore.

As well as cheap mixed dorm rooms, Bunc at Radius Little India also has ladies only rooms and some rather cute private doubles. See how cheap this hostel is here. Read More...

he Pod – Boutique Capsule Hotel

When Singapore’s backpacker boom first started, hostel beds in Singapore were not allowed to have curtains or blinds due to the strict laws in place forbidding it. Since the rules were relaxed, a whole host of ‘capsule’ concept hotels have popped up, and one of the swankiest is The Pod Hotel on Beach Road, a short walk from Bugis MRT.

Despite the name, the ‘pods’ are less space-age capsules and more stylish bunk beds with large and comfy single mattresses, walls either side, a ceiling, and a blind which opens and closes for that added privacy. Whilst cheap in price, the hotel oozes style with its washed concrete flooring and warm wooden fixtures through the numerous rooms and common areas. See how cheap this hostel is here. Read More...

3. Adler Hostel
Adler Hostel offers traditional dorm-style rooms at a budget price, although you wouldn’t believe it when stepping inside this converted Chinatown shop house for the first time.

Opened in 2012 with a distinctly art deco concept and the vision of being ‘the first ever luxury hostel in Singapore’, Adler Hostel certainly seems to have achieved this ‘luxury’ status with an ample supply of fine furnishings, roomy bunk beds with blinds and modern, separate bathrooms for the boys and the girls. Whilst most cheap hostels in Singapore do offer slightly lower prices than Adler, it’s the little touches that make it worth paying the extra S$15 or so. You get TWO pillows (instead of the standard one in the majority of hostels in Singapore), as well as a welcome drink, shelving space, hangers, ear plugs and a pull-out desk; all making the most of the limited space a dorm bed has. Vintage Inn is one of the cheapest places to stay in Singapore, with rooms starting from just over $S20 per night. However, the low prices here doesn’t mean that comfort is sacrificed; on the contrary, bed spaces are generous, you get plush white linen and comfy pillows and each unit has its own closable curtains for privacy.

Located in Little India, Vintage Inn is just a few minutes’ walk from the nearest MRT Station which will connect you with the rest of the city. They also have a communal area where you can make yourself breakfast in the morning. As well as snug capsule-like beds, there is also a range of ‘double capsules’, perfect for couples or just those looking for a bit of extra space. See how cheap this hostel is here.
